Entrepreneurs Forum of Greater Philadelphia Launches True North Education Series for High-Growth Firms

September 28, 2010 (Philadelphia, PA) – The Entrepreneurs Forum of Greater Philadelphia (Forum) today announced its 2011 True North Education Series; programming to help high-growth entrepreneurs achieve their dreams. For 25 years, the Forum has served the small business community in the Greater Philadelphia region through networking and educational efforts. The new initiative builds upon that commitment and provides a compass to help entrepreneurs navigate today’s economy.

“The Forum is a unique organization,” says Bob Leib, president of the Forum and a Hall of Fame Philadelphia 100 winner. “The Forum receives no public funds. Instead, it is supported by dedicated local businesses, entrepreneurs and educational institutions that give back to the entrepreneurial community. Our goal is to create networking opportunities for mutual growth and also to provide entrepreneurs with excellent insights on what they need to do to succeed.”

The Entrepreneurs Forum True North Education Series includes:

  • Lonely at the Top for CEOs
  • How to Start, Grow, and Manage a Dynamic Sales Team
  • Entrepreneurs Legal Roundtable
  • Building a finance foundation in early-stage companies
  • 2011 Entrepreneur Outlook (January)
  • People Who Can Make you a Winner
  • The Clean Tech Revolution
  • Energizing Minority Businesses

In addition, the Forum is launching the following new initiatives:

  • Experts on Demand – a simple way for entrepreneurs to connect with resources that can help them grow.
  • Social networks through LinkedIn and Twitter to facilitate networking and business development
  • New website to provide a focal point for communication and information

The Entrepreneurs Forum, along with the Philadelphia Business Journal, and Wharton’s Small Business Development Center also produces the Philadelphia 100 Awards. For 23 years, it has celebrated the fastest growing privately held firms in the Greater Philadelphia region. This year’s ceremony will take place on Wednesday, October 13th at the Annenberg Center.

“The goal of the Entrepreneurs Forum is to provide outstanding business growth opportunities to high-growth firms, both emerging and established,” said Dan Ross, Executive Director of the Forum. “We complement other organizations in the Philadelphia region. There are excellent groups that help small businesses. In some cases, these organizations are very exclusive with high fees to join. They do a great job. The Forum encourages entrepreneurs to participate with us and get “sticky” without the need to commit to a large expense.”
