IS YOUR BUSINESS SECURE? COMPUTER SECURITY IN A WORLD OF EVER CHANGING THREATS
If you think your business
is protected because it has a firewall and antivirus software - think again!
Today’s computing environment is fraught with threats that evolve constantly
in sophistication. Corporate identity theft, phishing schemes and other digital
crimes are on the rise. Surprisingly, The Gartner Group reports that 97% of
over 300 audited websites were vulnerable to web application attacks and 75%
of cyber attacks are at the application level! Guess? and Victoria Secret had
to make restitution to the FTC and NY State respectively for exposing their
customers’ credit cards to hackers. While large, mature companies are
more likely to be a target, new and growing companies have to be on their guard
as they could be vulnerable due to lack of resources, priority, and/or funds.
Both must keep abreast of the risks they face from external and internal sources
and the consequences of a data breach.
